FNS reported the
current OMB inventory for this collection was 1,372,042 on the
83-I. The actual inventory for this collection prior to this
submission was 2,568,107. Therefore, the burden hour adjustment was
85,374, not 1,281,439. Additionally, the number of respondents was
revised to avoid counting the same respondent more than once, all
per our 11/3/00 telephone call.

The WIC program provides nutrition
benefits to low income women, infants and children. It is
administered by State and local governments. Benefits are obtained
through retail vendor home delivery and direct distribution
systems. This submission is being made to extend the general
program information collection burden of the WIc Progrma for an
additional three year.
